Spirits were high when we visited Mt Binga on Tuesday, 9 August. The Russell girls were all off completing their overnight sleep out.  It would have been beautiful but chilly for this exciting challenge.

The Russell boys were all busily involved in the regular routine of camp life.  We were able to enjoy the highs of the boys filling each other in on their successes and challenges over the morning, including trail riding, wood chopping and clearing lantana.  They were simply having a ball; then we watched as they moved into domestic mode to get their own lunches.

The delight on their faces and in their voices as they described the highs and the other highs of their previous two and bit weeks was inspiring to hear.  There simply were no negatives – Sam’s reports of the closeness of the group, the great feeling of success by Connor and Lucas for having met challenges of the three day camp and even the minute detail of Jonah and Brenton hanging upside-down on the abseiling rope on the previous day, Jackson instigating a quick card game between activities and then we watched Jack and Cody ride off on ‘their horses’ while Josh was chopping wood for the evening’s cooking. All these combined impressions gave us a warm feeling for the success of this great program.  We trust the other Camp groups will enjoy their time at Binga just as much as this group has been doing.
