From the moment we woke up we knew it was going to be an awesome day because after we had our French toast and done our morning jobs, we were going to the BUNYA MOUNTAINS.  So we got in our troopies and off we went.

We arrived at the mountains all pumped for the 4km scenic circuit but first was a lunch of sausages on bread.  After we had eaten our lunch we were off on the scenic 4km walk.

On this walk we saw Bunya Pine trees, waterfalls and the amazing view of the valleys from the top of the range.

We then came home to Binga to do journaling, afternoon jobs and wrapped up the day with a dinner of hot dogs.  We are off on our solos tomorrow and we are all very excited.

Today was another early start for the boys because the girls had won themselves the 8:30am sleep in.

While the girls were sleeping or more rather playing card games in the quad while still in their sleeping bags, the boys were doing jobs.

After jobs were complete we had breakfast which was followed by cabin inspections.  The rest of the day was for washing clothes.  When people weren’t washing they were either letter writing or playing cards.

Once everybody had washed we all went out on the oval to play a big game of soccer.  In the end everybody enjoyed themselves.

After a great day everybody was looking forward to our solos the next day.

Saturday 13 August 2011

Today we woke up as usual on a Saturday, except that it wasn’t a usual Saturday. We had the daily flag-raising, devotion and morning jobs, then proceeded to the next part of our day, clothes washing and free time.  While the first group of people washed their clothes, everyone else was lucky enough to go shovel some cow poo.  It wasn’t as bad as we initially thought, and the group shovelled a whopping 23 wheelbarrow loads of cow poo. It was a race against each other to see how much poo we could shovel for a mysterious prize.  The winning group shovelled 7 wheelbarrows of poo with 2nd place close behind with 6, 3rd and 4th both tied with 5 wheelbarrows each.

After this we proceeded with clothes washing and relaxing, with most of our spare time spent playing card games.  After this we proceeded with jobs and wrapped up with dinner.

Today we had a switch around, the boys came back from survival and the girls went abseiling and rock-climbing.  Some of the girls even went upside-down while abseiling just like the boys.  Once the boys were back they cleaned up, unpacked and had a competition on who could pick up the most barrel loads of cow poo.  Jonah and Josh ended up winning the competition with 7 barrels!

After they finished doing that the girls arrived back from abseiling and rock-climbing and we went straight into journaling and afternoon tea.  We then caught up with each other and did our afternoon jobs.  Tonight we will get a good night’s sleep and a very scrumptious dinner, sausages and veggies. YAY!
